The Céou is undeniably one of the most beautiful rivers in the Dordogne-Perigord. It’s impossible to resist a nice swim in the river with its crystal clear water, waterfalls and shaded shores. This is a very special moment that both parents and children enjoy sharing in tranquillity.
The Céou is a first category river, also called ‘trout river’. A fishing licence (fishing identity card) can be obtained at the mayors’ office to enable both experienced and novice anglers to enjoy wild water fishing.
Enjoy the pleasures of the preserved nature of the Céou valley, in the south of the Black Perigord, near the Lot-Quercy region.
The Céou is a tributary of the Dordogne, on the left bank. This wild river has its source near Montfaucon, on the Gramat causse, less than 15 km southwest of Rocamadour, in the Lot county. It flows into the Dordogne in Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, barely 4 km from three-star campsite Bel Ombrage, 5 km west of Domme and about 10 km southwest of Sarlat.
